Introduction

Strata ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Strata mobile application.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide:

• Prompt Content: Words, phrases, and text you enter to build AI prompts
• Subline Modifiers: Optional descriptive text you add beneath words
• Style Preferences: Style presets, style strength settings, and prompt length selections
• Saved Prompts: Prompts you choose to save within the app
• App Preferences: Theme colors and app settings
• Images: Photos you upload when using the "Image to Prompt" feature
• Account Information: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID and optionally your email address

Automatically Collected Information:

• Device Information: Device type, OS version, app version
• Usage Data: Features used and interaction patterns (anonymized)
• Crash Reports: Technical logs if errors occur

Information We Do NOT Collect:

• Location data
• Contacts or photos from your device (except images you explicitly upload for Image to Prompt)
• Payment card information (handled securely by Apple)

How We Use Your Information

• Generate and process AI prompts based on your input
• Save your preferences and prompt history locally on your device
• Sync your credit balance across devices when signed in with Apple
• Improve app performance and user experience
• Provide customer support when requested

Data Shared with Third Parties

OpenAI (AI Processing Provider)

To generate prompts and analyze images, Strata sends certain data to OpenAI (openai.com) for AI processing. Before any data is sent, the app asks for your explicit consent.

What data is sent to OpenAI:

• Words and sublines you enter into the prompt builder
• Style preferences including selected style presets, style strength, and prompt length
• Prompt mode selection (e.g., General, Midjourney, Nano Banana, ChatGPT Question)
• Images you upload when using the "Image to Prompt" feature
• ChatGPT questions when using the ChatGPT Question mode

What data is NOT sent to OpenAI:

• Your Apple ID or email address
• Your credit balance or purchase history
• Your saved prompts or saved states
• Your app preferences or theme settings
• Any device or personal identification information

How OpenAI handles your data:

• Data is transmitted securely using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS)
• Strata uses OpenAI's API, which does not use submitted data to train or improve OpenAI's models
• OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, after which they are deleted

Your control: You are asked for consent before any data is sent to OpenAI. If you decline, the app continues to function for all non-AI features. No data is sent without your explicit interaction.

Apple

• App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
• Sign in with Apple: For optional account creation and authentication

Data Storage and Security

Your prompts, settings, and saved states are stored locally on your device. If you sign in with Apple, your user ID and credit balance are stored on our secure servers for cross-device syncing. When generating prompts, inputs are processed through OpenAI but not permanently stored on our servers. All data transmission is encrypted using TLS.

Data Retention

• Local data: Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app
• Server data: Account and credit information retained while your account is active; deleted upon request
• OpenAI: API data may be retained for up to 30 days for safety monitoring per OpenAI's policies

Your Rights and Choices

• Control AI data sharing by accepting or declining the consent prompt
• Delete your saved prompts and states at any time
• Clear all local data by uninstalling the app
• Sign out of your Apple account in app settings
• Contact us to request deletion of server-side data

Children's Privacy

Strata is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
